Asian Ceremony
In the morning, both our families will be performing traditional Chinese and Vietnamese wedding ceremony. The ceremonies take place first at Thi's house, where Mike and his attendant will come to pick up Thi...for a small fee. Thi's attendants will be waiting for Mike to test if he is worthy of bringing Thi home as his new bride. At the end, after a few test and a some moola is exchanged, Mike will be let into Thi's home where a small ceremony to Thi's ancestors will be performed. Afterwise, we do it all over again at Mike's house. Mike and Thi will pay respects to Mike's ancestors and both the bride and groom will be serving tea to Mike's family members. After all the tea is served, this ceremony is over.
Western Ceremony
This is the wedding Thi and Mike have seen on TV, movies, magazine and read in books since they were kids. This will also be where Thi and Mike will be legally married. The most unique thing about this ceremony is that it will be performed by our best friend, Thien Vu Ngo. She has graciously had herself sworn in by the county to marry us on November 1, 2003. This is going to be so fun! We can't wait!
